First of all, I want to wish you a Happy Lunar New Year! Gung Hay Fat Choy (Cantonese), Gong Shi Fat Chai (Mandarin)!

Second, I want to thank you for visiting the Greater Monterey Park Chamber of Commerce and Visitor Center’s new webpage. It is one of the projects we are pursuing here at the Chamber in order to better serve our members and the community.

The month of February is a busy one. For most of us, the new year is already a month old. But for others, especially those from Asia or at least of Asian origin, there is an opportunity to celebrate another new year, the Lunar New Year. For many of Monterey Park’s businesses, this marks the busy season as shoppers goes about preparing for the holiday.

Among the many traditions associated with the Lunar New Year is a family dinner. The Chamber will be holding its own “family dinner” on Thursday, February 18 at the Empress Harbour Seafood Restaurant located at 111 N. Atlantic Blvd., Monterey Park, CA 91754 (corner of Atlantic & Garvey Ave.). Besides a sumptuous 10-course dinner, there will be music, entertainment, silent auction and a raffle which will include a round-trip ticket to Shanghai. The ticket is donated by our Presidential Circle Sponsor, Delta Air Lines. Speaking of sponsor, please allow me to thank our other sponsor, the West San Gabriel Municipal Water District.

I hope you will join us for the gala. For more details, please contact David Barron at (626) 570-9429.
